Review: Racer

Racer Racer by Katy Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of Book Addict.live,
I was really looking forward to this book, and have it on Preorder because there is nothing Katy Evans has written that I haven’t enjoyed and this book was no different. It was very easy is to expect a carbon copy of Remy, and as I am in love with Remy I wouldn’t complain. Racer has had something Remy never had, a loving family with parents that adored him.
Racer knew he was all that from the get go. So with all the love and respect he had been taught for his body gave him a huge advantage over his father’s upbringing. Racer’s supreme self-confidence was a real turn on for Lana and I loved his character. A man whose number one focus is his woman and then his sport.
Meeting Lana was the icing on the cake, as he soon as he met her, Lana was it for him. I enjoyed meeting Lana’s gang. Lana was a lost soul who had closed herself off from love. So she was swept of her feet by Racer and it was beautiful to see. I would recommend this to all fans of the Real Series.
This is a standalone, but to better understand Racer it is better to start with Remy and Brooke as it helps you can understand and appreciate where Racer came from. Once you start reading the series you’ll thank me anyway. It was a pleasure and joy to read. I’m looking forward to listening to it all again with my new Audiobook.

Review: STILL

STILL STILL by Kennedy Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW Kennedy Ryan has surpassed herself with this wonderful book. I loved Grip and have read it a few times because it had so much more depth than most out there, but Still grabbed unto me  with the emotional intensity had me fuming one minute, laughing the next and crying all the things and emotions that makes our lives complete.
In Grip they finally got together but in Still the book went beyond the happily ever after that we get when the couple get together at the end of the book. I loved this book, you can’t read it and remain an emotionally detached from the issues raised in this book. Bris and Grip together was so beautiful to read, even when you feel  the emotions this book pulls out of you and leaves you a blubbering mess at the end.
I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. I recommend you read FLOW the Prequel and GRIP before you start this book.

Review: Thrax

Thrax Thrax by Christina Bauer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angelbound starts as Myla and Lincoln are on their last night of their Honeymoon when Lincoln is whisked away by black magic by an evil Thrax called Ethan.
I was looking forward to this book, and it didn’t disappoint. Action packed from start to finish. Most of the action taking place on earth, at La Guardia Airport. My god he was so evil with all the black magic.
Myla was minus Lincoln for most of the book, we also saw a more mature Myla, thinking before killing. It was nice to see Cissy and Zeke always there when Myla needs them. Myla is a suburb character I just love her snark and internal monologues.
Lincoln and Myla have grown into their roles as King and Queen of the Thrax. I loved the whole book, and couldn’t put it down, much to the annoyance of my husband. This Series goes from strength to strength with the characters growing with this superb Series.

Review: Drawn to Him: A Romance Collection

Drawn to Him: A Romance Collection Drawn to Him: A Romance Collection by K. Webster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Great Collection, but I read from the back first so this is my review for,
ONE NIGHT by K.L. Kreig
One night is the last book in the collection. It’s the one night that felt so much more. Saine had been a bridesmaid for her cousin and ex-fiancĂ©e’s wedding. Heartbroken and getting drunk she meets a bearded man with a man bun and the chemistry is through the roof, and they have a sex marathon that’s still burning the kindle. Saine left before swapping names and information.
As always beautifully written, even though short it didn’t seem hurried. I loved the tension between Bennett and Saine, the heat steamed my kindle. When they meet some time later, and Saine doesn’t recognise the clean shaven sexy business partner who can't stop staring at her.
I love both Bennett and Saine and have to save this a 5 star read from the pen of KL. Kreig, and hopefully a full time novel in this world would be good.

Review: Rock Me

Rock Me Rock Me by Carly Phillips
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed by Book Addict live,
Rock Me is the story of Summer and Ben, they met on a singing competition on television. Summer was one of the contestants, and Ben was on security when they started sleeping together. When they were outed Ben lost his job and Summer. Four years later Ben works for an Alpha Security Company as a bodyguard.

You guessed it he ends up of protecting Summer as threats have been made against her. This is a love story, what do expect? I really enjoyed reading about Ben and Summer, they were both characters that I warmed to. There was plenty of action going on in and out of the bedroom to keep you interested.

We also met some nice colleagues of Ben at the Alpha security company which I hope we will see in future books. We also encounter so some very unsavory people which adds to the drama of the situation. I really enjoyed this book, and I finished with a smile on my face.

Review: Grip

Grip Grip by Kennedy Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first thing I would like say is you need to read Flow the FREE prequel before you read Grip. Flow a short story, but follows Grip and Bristol who meet on a Spring break when Bristol comes to LA to visit Rhyston her twin brother. Instead she is met at the airport by the most sexy man she ever seen. The attraction between them was instant, but it was the way they enjoyed each other’s company that made everything different. By the end the week they were in love, and knew that was it. Find FLOW, the Prequel here:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
GRIP

Fast forward 8 years later, and a lot has changed. Rhyston and Bristol now run a music company, and Bristol now manages several artists. Grip is one of those she now manages. After a misunderstanding many years before the only relationship they have is friendship. Grip is still in love with Bristol, but she keeps pushing him away. Bristol loves Grip with all her heart, but is scared to let go.

I loved Grip after reading Flow, and could understand Bristol point of view after her upbringing. The spectre of her parents’ marriage keeping her locked up tight.

There was no doubt they both loved each other, and at times painful to read with the misunderstanding hurting each other deeply. I absolutely loved this book, it kept me glued to my kindle from start to finish and now I’m now in mourning. I highly recommend this book, there so much going on to keep you glued to your kindle, and at the end I felt bereft.

Review: Bastards & Whiskey

Bastards & Whiskey Bastards & Whiskey by Alta Hensley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of Book Addict.live,
I sit amongst the Presidents, Royalty, the Captains of Industry, and the wealthiest fucks in the world.
We own Spiked Roses—an exclusive, membership only establishment in New Orleans where money or lineage is the only way in. It is for the gentlemen who own everything and never hear the word no.
This describes the membership of Spiked Roses, so I going to talk about Kenneth a Hot shot Lawyer, kinky bastard and a founding member changing the rules to keep down the lawsuits by female members of staff.
Anita wants to start living and feeling life, as living in a trailer in the middle nowhere makes her feel empty. Everyday she waits for a snake bite on the way to work. After being pushed she arrives in New Orleans with an interview at Spiked Roses, Kenneth interviews her and puts her to work in the Cigar Room. An ideal candidate so it seems.
After a bad decision that puts her Anita in danger. An act that seemed out of character for her and then suddenly she turns into a brat. This is when the cat and mouse game with Kenneth starts. Kenneth is a kinky asshole who has to be in control. This is where things started to get interesting and the actions moves at a faster rate.
This is the first in a series so we had some world building at the start, but Kenneth and Anita finished together and he seemed a nicer kinky bastard. I look forward to book two in the series.

Review: Pitch Dark

Pitch Dark Pitch Dark by A.M. Wilson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf Book Addict Live, 4.5 stars
My god I don’t know what to say, I’m shaking and trying to get my thoughts together. I will try to keep this as Spoiler Free as possible. First this is a very dark thriller that kept me glued to the pages. The book is told mostly from Detective Niko James point of view.
Niko is called back to his home town because a body has been found and they think it’s his childhood best friend who he had loved deeply. This triggers childhood flashbacks as we see then growing up together. Aislin was kidnapped at thirteen and has been missing for fifteen years. Niko is full of anger and anguish as he feels he has let his North Star down.
When he accepts that the body is that of best friend, the focus of his life for fifteen years moves to discovering the monster who had kept her, abused her and finally killed her. This is a very dark book as expected when dealing with this subject matter. I enjoyed this thriller and will be keeping my eye out for more books by these authors.

Review: Dark Legacy

Dark Legacy Dark Legacy by Christine Feehan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read this series from the beginning, and never miss one.
With a such a long running series you have some you enjoy some more than others.
I have to say they are always devoured within hours of receiving. This was pivotal book as we have alot of the ancients gathered and Gary in San Diego at the compound.
We learn a lot and I can't wait for the next one.
Dragomir and Emeline are the lifemates, and as always they were well suited.
I just didn't feel it between them, it is probably me.
This series is still a read in one go, and now I'm depressed waiting a year for the next one.

Review: Fate of the Stars

Fate of the Stars Fate of the Stars by Arwen Paris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow what a story I loved it, so much I read it through the night and couldn’t put it down. Alison wanders off during a party on the beach, and the next thing she knows its morning. When she arrives home the next morning the first wave of the invasion starts.
This is where Arwen Paris pulls you into the story with so much detail you feel you are with Allison every step of the way. The Ma’tiok were horrible creatures you could feel them chasing you as you felt for Allison. When Allison meets the Vongjar she feels she has allies, and this when she finds out more about Eenoki and how they live symbiotically with the host, and she tries to bond without success.
Allison moves though so non-stop action all through the book. This is definitely got to be the first in a Series (Please I enjoyed it so much)
If you enjoy a good sci-fi book with plenty of action this one is for you. We follow Allison throughout the book as we watch her grow up pretty fast. I will not say anymore so buy it and give it a go.
