Review: Battle for Love

Battle for Love Battle for Love by Julia Sykes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the Prequel for War of Hearts, in this book we are introduced to Joseph and Ashlyn.
Ashlyn and her roommate go into a bar mostly for students. The only thing worth seeing is the sexy barman Joseph. This is a lovely story of their relationship while dating. Joseph has a mystery background. It's important to read this, as you can feel the depth of feeling between the two.

Review: War of Hearts

War of Hearts War of Hearts by Julia Sykes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed behalf of http://bookaddict.live, 3.5*
This is an unusual book, we start a few weeks after the Prequel Battle For Love which takes place in Cambridge where Ashlyn was studying at Harvard. When she starts to have a lovely relationship with a sexy bartender, who is trying to escape his family business.
At the start of this book Marco decides that because Joseph has been unhappy since leaving Ashlyn, he decides on kidnapping for Joseph. The story takes place at Marco’s family estate, where the three live in a small bubble. Marco and Joseph decides to introduce Ashlyn to a three way sexual and loving relationship with them. I was disappointed there wasn’t more from the mafia side.
Once altogether they all seem to get on well together, Joseph brings out his toys, and with Marco’s help introduces her bdsm. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I got bored in places. This is a new adult read with plenty of sex, not enough action outside the bedroom.

Well Played Well Played by J.S. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Well Played is a sports Romance with a difference, we have Graham coming to meet his two best friends at Aspen for skiing. Also he is looking forward to introducing his fiancee to his only friends.
Unfortunately things don’t go to plan when Lauren arrives to find her brother Jack in a compromising position with Graham’s fiancee Hope.
Lauren has loved Graham all her life, and she does all she can to support him. It made a change to have a heroine as great Lauren, and Graham was so much in love with his best friend.
This is an entertaining sports romance with some great characters, and I’m looking forward to reading their stories. I enjoying reading both authors separately, but they have created a world I won’t more of. I really fell for Graham, as this is dual point of view I loved his inner monologue. I almost forgot this book is sexy hot sports romance what more do you want?

My god what a book it was amazing, from the first to the last it kept me gripped. Brooke is just an unhappy sixteen year old and then when she meets Stone everything changes. At times I was sobbing my eyes out, those poor boys. I haven’t read Prisoner so I had no idea what I was going to read, and no idea how the excellent the writing would be. It had me pulled into the story and I was living horror of the story with them.
I haven’t read Prisoner, but it did detract in any way from the story, but as I am hooked I am going to read it  now. This has a lot of dark moments, but all to help the story along. Stone was finally living some of his life for himself when he was with Brooke. This story can be read as a standalone complete with a happy ending. I have been so lucky to be able to read some great books so far for 2018, and this is one of them.

Review: Cold Fear

Cold Fear Cold Fear by Toni Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

REVIEWED ON BEHALF OF http://bookaddict.live,
I do love a good suspense series, and this one of them. It seems all agents are finding the love of their lives. The most emphasis is put on solving crimes, and the agents in this case are chasing a serial killer operating in the style a murderer seating on death row, and he is only weeks away from death.
FBI agent Frazier is determined to make sure the serial killer sitting on Death Row doesn’t gets away it, all because we have copycat operating in this area. Former Army Captain Dr Isadora Campbell is on the beach a young woman is found dead on the sand dunes where she was walking her dog.
I loved the complexity of the plot. I changed my mind two or three times about who the murderer was and I still got it wrong.
The character development was also very strong and this is true for the side characters as well. There was an emotional depth to this thriller which I find is often missing from the mass produced romantic suspense titles saturating the market. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series.
I have to say that I found the first few chapters quite sad and emotional. Rape is a sensitive and difficult topic to write about and when it involves the murder of a young girl you can’t help but feel shocked and saddened. The friends’ and parents’ grief was almost tangible in these opening chapters.
I have listened to many of Eric G. Dove’s other performances and have always enjoyed listening to him but, he did an amazing job with this one and I’ve seen saw his name on plenty of titles in different genres after listening to this one I think it would help persuade me to buy it.

Wow what a book, I really enjoyed this Duet especially Diana and Rafe they were great together. “ O what a tangled web we weave when first practice to deceive “ I think that describes Diana’s part in a large portion of the Duet. This has excitement, suspense hot sex and I loved Rafe. I’ve decided that we would all love someone like Rafe. The chemistry between Rafe and Diana is combustible I felt the sparks through my kindle.
I don’t want to give anything away, but this part of the duet is action all the way. I think all the guys Noah, Matthias, Jonas and the girl were great fun, and I can't wait for Jonas and JJ's book.

Review: Respect

Respect Respect by Aleatha Romig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Standing at what I believe is the precipice of my life, I, Oren Demetri, was too young to understand that it wasn't and too old to imagine that it couldn't be.
Respect is more than an ordinary novel, it’s an insider’s view into a young man marrying into a mafia family, and how he changes and loses his love and marriage in the process. At no time did Oren doubt his love for Angelina, even though he had been unfaithful through the years.
When Oren had to make changes to fit into Angelina mafia family, and his drive to make his company more profitable for his family. In the process loses what made feel like a good family man.
I'll admit, I didn't much care for Oren in the Infidelity series, he was always the pinnacle of hate for Lennox and was portrayed to be a neglectful and absent father through Lennox's eyes. Here we see how the relationship between Oren and Lennox broke down. My heart just bleed out for Oren and my feelings are in turmoil. I completely fell in love with Oren I could feel the strain and torture that troubled him every day.
There were so many other characters that we briefly became aware of in the Infidelity series, it was great to get to know these in greater detail too. Aleatha writes with feeling, with passion and with depth. She brings her characters to life and we truly see the story through their eyes.
I enjoyed the book so much that I decide listen to the Audiobook with Brian Pallino, and lost myself in Oren’s life again. Now I crying my eyes out as I’m writing this. Book or Audio I loved them both.

I was waiting with baited breath to find out what happened to Mark. As I was so sad at the end of book one.
This starts 5 years & 7 months after the last one.
We catch up with the girls staying at Freddie’s villa in France, after spending five years tracking sexual predators who were involved in abuse going on back at Pussycat Angels. Mark is now a police detective living Alaska. Mark has spent a long time tracking her down, and he doesn’t want to let Lara out of site now his found her.
Mark is just an all-round great guy. Plus he is just super sexy there isn't much this guy can’t do. The love he as for Lara is just so strong. Even when he finds out the things that Lara has done he doesn’t care, because she is the love of his life. She can run from him and be stubborn but he will always find her and helps deal with anything that’s going to make their life hard. His career could be on the line with helping them but he doesn’t care he is always a step ahead. He really can’t do anything wrong in my eyes I just love his character.
There is so much going on in this Lara and Mark and sometimes Molly go from New Orleans to Seattle to make certain that it safe to live in the open. I want give anything else away, but a bit of advice read the Novella Sundown which takes place between the two. This is a great duet and you can’t help but to warm to most of the bunch on the good side of course.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As always it is a treat to read one of Lisa’s books, and Falling Under was no exception. We have a former stone cold assassin working for Walker Security called Jacob who to others shows no emotions. Our heroine is a police detective who has lost everyone close to her apart from her father, who has Walker Security working for him during a difficult time and needs his daughter protected.
Jewel is a kick ass heroine with plenty of Intelligence and fire, and is assigned Jacob as her bodyguard. What you then have is giant sparks between them while trying to solve a big case together. What follows is plenty of action and suspense in and out of the bedroom. This series of books are completely standalones no cliffhangers.
As I come to the end of the book I’m always want more so hurry up Poison Kisses.

Midnight Blue Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
I loved this book, it’s the first book by this author and won’t be the last. I thought I knew what I was getting, “Dreamy Rock star falls in love with plain girl with a heart of gold.”
Well I was wrong we have the rock star, Alex Winslow who was one self centered jerk with nothing to redeem him.
Then we have Indigo is hired to follow Alex around to keep clear of drugs and alcohol. Indie makes all her own clothes, and is sending her wages back to help her brother’s family.
Then off we go on a world tour, a comeback tour, with all his old friends all part of the team. This is the beginning of the adventure that takes them around the world. Gradually at midnight on the landing outside their rooms talking, and over time Alex finds he can write songs again. This is a long book and the first half seems slow, but it is like a natural progression of a relationship.
The rest is veritable feast for the senses seeing Alex become more human, and Indie really caring for him as time goes on. This is a joy to read, longer than some of the others  books of the type ie: Rockstar insta love. This is so much more and I have another author on my auto buy.

Review: Watching Mine

Watching Mine Watching Mine by Alex Grayson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Watching mine is book three in the Consumed Series, but this can be read as a standalone. The story of Nathan a member of the sex Addicts group whose kink is voyeurism, and for the last two years has been watching Emberleigh who lives in a building opposite. That all changes when he actually meets her at a club called Blackie’s where practically anything goes. Suddenly seeing her across the club dancing with someone, he realises he wants her for himself not just to watch her with someone else.
For an Erotic Romance Nathan turns out to be a nice bloke, and it’s an instant connection between them. As time passes things change. This is an erotic romance with a few curve balls to try and shatter their connection, Nathan in turns into a loving and kind if a little kinky sexy boyfriend.
In Emberleigh Nathan has found his perfect woman, and with Watching Mine is what it says on packet or book.
An kinky Erotic read with plenty of heart, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

At the moment she is a nanny to Bailey who lives with her father Austin. Austin works for Alpha Security, but wants to work behind the scenes so in can be around for his daughter.
Mix all the ingredients add in the ex, and trouble from Mia’s old boss, and you have a great story with drama and hot sex . Mia and Austin were perfect together, you could see the feelings changing from lust to love and caring. I loved the ending it was so good, and Bailey was such a sweetie, and this is written from dual pov which has quickly become my favourite way of reading. Well scoring with Mr Romeo is for once about a beautiful and kindhearted man who falls in love Sabrina and her son Mikey. Sabrina’s has a lot of baggage left from her dead husband. This was a beautiful read, and sexy Luca really did it for me.
If you want to read a great romance, with funny parts as well sexy and maybe hot. This is the one for you. No A..holes were hurt in this book, and in the writing of this review. Just lots of fun to read, and little Mikey had more sense than his mother at times. He loved Luca as soon as that meet when a football hits Luca in the head. Also some trouble with paint made his day. This is a refreshing change with regard the male character being a swoonworthy loving guy. Sabrina on the hand I wanted to shake on more than one occasion. An enchanting read that I enjoyed immensely, with plenty of fun bits to make you laugh. I can’t wait to read Cassie and Luca’s brother in the next book.

Wow what an original slant reincarnation  until souls reach fulfilment and a level of completeness.

Hannah realises she dead, and she doesn’t know how. When you die you meet the Soulweaver, and you receive images of past lives. Before your reborn your memories are washed away, Hannah manages to hold on to her memories.
This is a fascinating read as we follow the soul that was Hannah’s through her incarnation as Lin. A young girl who dreams of a Forest and a clearing. Also she sketches faces she has never met I’m doing it again telling you the story. You have to read it, it is easy and quick to read as it flows with ease. I for one would like to read more from this author with her different views which makes me read and believe what has been written. Great Book and I can’t wait for more.

This book was not what I expected, it was much better. I think it is great the way each book is completely different from the one before. This was the one we were waiting for, what is it like inside Victor Drayton’s Dollhouse and what goes on?
This is the book to read to find out. Victor is a Managing Member of Spiked Roses, and when Ivy is dismissed. Victor overs her a chance to become a Victor Drayton’s Doll. Ivy accepts and enters another world.
All I am going to say is I loved this book, even with the taboo and at times loving situations. If you enjoy your book with sexual taboo subjects. You know you ready for an Alta Hensley. I enjoyed this one, and devoured in one sitting. I have to say this is my favourite in the series so far, but it is not for the fainthearted.

So Laurel moves to Portland, gets a job and tries to heal. Jack is not ready to lose Laurel and determined to bring her home. My god I loved this book this book. I couldn’t put it down, my hands are shaking in shock. I didn’t see the ending coming at all. Now I have to wait for Seed to find out what happens.
This is the first time I’ve read this Author, but it won’t be the last. I can’t recommend this book enough the emotions come of the page and drag in, and you don’t want to leave. I feel bereft and in mourning until book two comes out. This is definitely a 5 star read !

Full Contact is crossover from two different worlds each of the authors have created. To me this is a well written story about a couple who met when in college and fell in love. As young adults trying to figure their place in life, and Justice coming from a mafia family thinks leaving Liam who has bright future in NFL as a star player is the right thing to do. So there no taint from her Family’s association.
So in essence this is a second chance love story between Justice and Liam. There is so much bitterness but still love on Liam’s side, and Justice has always loved Liam in the intervening years.
I haven’t read either series the families come from, but the richness in the characters of the parents and siblings makes me want to go back and read the other series. So the couple get back together, but the way is paved with problems from an outside agent. I loved Liam he was swoon worthy, and was so in love with Justice.

Then she goes home to find her live in boyfriend of many years having sex with someone else in their bed. After packing everything she owns in her car she then rear ends one of the sexiest man she has never met.
Corbin has had a terrible morning, but when an angel rear ends him, he has the answer to his prayer. Corbin falls hard, cooks up the fake wife for two years to help him to keep his grandmother’s house and grounds.

I thought she was crazy at first, but she had done her homework and it worked better than  she hoped. Except they are dynamite together both falling for each very quickly. It was hot and passionate relationship, and neither of them expected it. Also there is something shadowy  going on in the background that neither of them know about.
This is crazy hot sexy adventure and I have to wait weeks to read the rest. I can’t recommend this enough, I knew it was a Duet going in but I so glad I read it even if I am still twitching waiting for Deeper.

Prince Charming Prince Charming by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

http://bookaddict.live,
Wow I just finished Prince Charming, and I enjoyed it more than the King of Code which was excellent. We met Keaton in the king of Code, as he is a friend of Taylor who he met at school. Keaton is English with a background so murky no one can see through it. Against all the odds he falls in love with FBI Agent Cass Grinstead. I really loved Cass a good strong heroine who can look after herself. Cass lives with her Grandmother, who was a real character.
This was a really enjoyable read, most of the characters were a joy to read. I really cared what happened to Cass and Keaton. I couldn’t help falling in love with Keaton, he had many sides to his personality. Cass had to keep peeling back the layers. As time goes on Cass’s whole focus changes.
I can’t recommend this enough, I so lucky to enjoy my first read of 2018. This was a real treat to read a Five Star Plus read for me.

Review: Pretty Dead Girls

Pretty Dead Girls Pretty Dead Girls by Monica Murphy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is slightly different from the usual romantic teenage angst that Monica Murphy does so well. We have all the same ingredients teenage girls arguing about boys, and the ability to get into the teenage girls mind. Which as a former bitchy drama queen I recognise it well.
Among all this we find have a killer targeting the elite most popular girls belonging to The Larks a group most aspire to belong to.
This is a tour de force from Miss Murphy having the POV from Penny one of the Larks, and the unknown killer to build the story to a dramatic conclusion. This book was consumed in one bite as I had to know who the killer was. The book leads us to an unexpected conclusion.
All I can say is where is the next book?

Emily and Shane both need time to process and recover from the trauma, especially after Emily being in a Coma. This book is non-stop action all the way through, I was on the edge of my seat all, as Shane puts his plans into action. As always it is the people and their relationships are at the center of Lisa’s books.
Shane is in a bad place, but Emily works with him towards their Happily Ever After. This is an excellent finish to such a high octane series.

Review: Three Blind Dates

Three Blind Dates Three Blind Dates by Meghan Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Another great Romantic Comedy from Meghan Quinn. Our Heroine Noelly Clark a Co-host for Good morning Malibu and is approached by a Blind date company to try a blind date in a safe environments.
So Noelly’s first blind date is Jack the suit, and they hit it off straight away, but unfortunately after a misunderstanding they part ways.
Then she meets Beck the Rebel, handsome, great body, leather jacket and that bike WOW.
Finally she meets the Jock, the city’s favourite football player Langdon. Great guy, great body something missing, but a good date.
Then suddenly someone using the call name Tom Hanks used in Who Got Mail, and starts to woe her, sends her things she needs, seduces her with words. This is a great book with plenty to keep you entertained. I engulfed mine in one bite and enjoyed every minute. Let’s not forget the two that are turned away, I hope we will see them again. Just what I needed to read this time of the year, I had a huge smile on my face at the end. Sometimes we all enjoy to read something to make you smile and this one did for me.
