Review: Back in the Game

Back in the Game Back in the Game by Meghan Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow Meghan has done it again, the queen of romantic comedy. This is the story Calder Weiss of who plays professional Hockey, whose most important role in life is a single finger to a five year daughter Shea. Then when dressed as Wanda the fairy wearing fairy wings he meets Rachel the woman of his dreams.
This is sweet funny story and I loved every minute of it. The story flowed well told by dwell pov’s and I was uplifted and smiling. As I always say it was fun and emotional with happily ever after. So if you want a quick fun loving book, I thoroughly recommend it.
The only reason this is a four stars is the length, for me it was the best.

The narration was superb with all the different voices, it brought to life a magical world where miracles could still happen to those who believe.

Review: Regretfully Yours

Regretfully Yours Regretfully Yours by Sunniva Dee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Wow this book is much more than I thought it would be, it definitely not for the fainthearted. We have Silvana and Gioele from a mafia family who live are away from home and away from the madness of the family’s business.
The big issue that seemed to be they are first cousins, and their feelings for each other are more like lovers. Silvana is trying to live her as normal as possible at college. I not judging anything, but it has never been taboo in England so it is harder for me to understand. I don’t want to give anything away, but that becomes the last thing she has to be worried about.
This so much more going on in this book, and certainly written so well you can feel all fear that Silvana has to go through. In fact the whole book is written so well, you are pulled into the story straight away. Then pulled through the ringer of emotions and then thrown out at the end feeling bereft. Even though we have great ending.

Review: Love Again

Love Again Love Again by Kelly Elliott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is the first book in this series that I’ve read, and it won’t be the last. This book gripped from start to finish
Waylynn has been deeply hurt by her lying, cheating ex-husband and she has vowed that she will not fall in love again. Jonathon is attracted to Waylynn and is determined to see where their relationship could lead them. One problem he has to get past the biggest stumbling block to his plan, Waylynn. She is attracted to him and although the chemistry is sizzling between them, she cannot get past the fact that he is 6 years younger than her and her brother Cord’s best friend.
Can Jonathon get through the wall that Waylynn has built around herself? Will Waylynn give Jonathon the chance to show her that by taking a leap of faith, she could finally have the life she has longed for so desperately? I loved this book and Waylynn's interaction with members of her family. Her brothers made me laugh, and the sisters in laws. That’s why I have to go back and read their stories. I not saying anything else except I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my god Jonathon is made my kindle sizzle.

Review: Chance Encounter: Prequel

Chance Encounter: Prequel Chance Encounter: Prequel by Nancy Warren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For the purpose of this review, I am reviewing both books together. Chance Encounter is a sweet novella set in 1976 on a greyhound bus. Daphne a young college student who is 5 months pregnant. In disgrace she is traveling to her great aunt. Jack feels sorry for Daphne who is crying in her sleep. Jack and Daphne click while telling each other their live stories
They can't let each go, and they decide to travel to the same place together. This story is only 25 mins altogether. It was a definitely must for the Chance Series to meet the young Jack and Daphne.

Review: Psychopath's Prey

Psychopath's Prey Psychopath's Prey by V.F. Mason
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This book blew me away, I didn’t read the blurb and in went blind. The story is told by different pov including the psychopath. This is definitely my cup of tea with the story taking place in FBI BAU, I love a murder mystery. This was so different from the standard who done it. We are on the inside of the group looking for a killer and then we are inside the psychopath’s mind. It kept the story flowing with the different POV’s
The characters in the BAU are a tight knit group so when Noah brings in a newbie Ella it takes time for her fit in. This book is fantastic, I don’t want give anything away. We have team looking for the psychopath who killing and leaving body parts in a wooded area. This book is not as dark as I thought it would be. It was wonderful feeling part of the team I was in there trying to figure who the Psychopath was  . I can’t recommend this enough, a book that kept on my toes all the way through. I am now going to look through the author’s backlist.

Review: Come As You Are

Come As You Are Come As You Are by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Once more Lauren Blakely has done it again, written a book that has the most wonderful man in it. I’m so in love with Flynn who is a thoroughly nice guy with such an awesome personality. Having been bitten in the past by a woman who wanted him for his bank balance. Flynn just finds it hard to trust women. As soon as he met Sabrina it was lust at first sight.
Our heroine Sabrina is feisty, intelligent who also has plenty of heart. I loved this book, it was entertaining, funny and Lauren at her best. I can’t wait to get the audiobook. They first meet at a masquerade party, both wearing costumes and masks. They just clicked and decided to meet again. Of course their journey to their happy ever after is paved with great entertainment. This one is a must buy

Review: Dark Desires

Dark Desires Dark Desires by Aja James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is the third book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. Dr Ava Monroe meets Ryu on a plane travelling to Tokyo, while Ava is a geneticist and her work is her life. The moment she meets him she is captivated and he is all she can think about.
Ryu is a vampire one of the dark ones as he was made. He is tracking Ava because of the research she is involved, and the research team she has come to work with.
This is an enjoyable series, and another exciting take on the vampire world. Ava was funny with her comments that should have stayed in her head. I absolutely loved Ryu he was HOT. That’s all for now I’m not spoiling the story, so you have to read it yourself.

Review: A Witch’s Concern

A Witch’s Concern A Witch’s Concern by N.E. Conneely
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
We start with Michelle on the way to her parents wedding when she gets a puncture, when a car stops Michelle realises this was trap, and realises she has been kidnapped by witches from her mother’s former coven.
Michelle has grown up without a coven, and she wants stay Clan less. Elron and Michelle’s relationship grows slow and steady. This is about her parents and her grandmothers, and one of her grandmother Gretchen is determined to have Michelle in her Coven.
This book  is  about family, and the lengths some go to get their own way. This is more about love from a family Michelle had never met on her father side.
This is an excellent story, and we understand more about how destiny catches up Michelle whether she likes or not.
Great narration Jeff’s male voices were very distinctive and I knew who was speaking every time. Laurel is Michelle and conjures her personality exactly. This is my fourth  audiobook in the series and everyone feels like old friends ( not the baddies )

Review: The Silver Swan

The Silver Swan The Silver Swan by Amo Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

WOW what a book, at first I thought high school angst, not my cup of tea. This blew me out the water, so much going on and I not telling. Just to say Madi arriving at a new school. New home and a new stepmom, and something she didn’t expect a step brother Nate. Especially Nate’s group of friends.
This is a must read and this is definitely has adult situations. It’s very hard to not give anything away, but this is book one in what appears to more than what is first seen. If you want suspense with a dark theme. Where a group of boys are much more than they seemed. I stopping there and picking up book two The Broken Puppet (The Elite Kings Club Book 2)

Review: Stray

Stray Stray by Natasha Stories
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Erin Timms finds herself starting her life over in the small town of Sunshine, Colorado. She’s a vet and after a breakup with her ex she’s left Dallas, Texas and is trying small town life, which as she comes to experience is very different. She encounters Jon Miles one evening when he brings a stray dog he’s just hit with his car, now Jon’s really hot. Every time Erin sees him she gets tongue tied, or rubbish comes of her month.
Jon is bowled over by Erin and is definitely interested. Unfortunately both parties have a lot of unresolved issues, which keeps them apart. So there lots of unresolved angst from Erin, which the Sierra brings to life all the emotion and especially Erin’s evening with BOB to life very realistically. Wow Jon voice is brought to life dripping with sex appeal by Jeffrey that has all the female listeners sit up and  take notice. The star of the story for me was Max the golden retriever who was the Stray in the title or was  he.

Review: DITCHED

DITCHED DITCHED by R.C. Boldt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Wow I have been waiting for this book from RC Boldt, Becket was such a great guy in He Loves Me Knot. We get to know him on a more personal level so he deserves a great woman, and Ivy is a great female lead.
When Ivy was in college and with the help of her friends Darcy and Leif they start the company that later becomes Ditched. Beckett is impressed and falls for Ivy straight away. Unfortunately Ivy’s background causes the relationship problems.
This book is as usual, an entertaining romance with a lot more substance that I have come to expect from this Author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and now I can’t wait for the next one. At the end of the book there is a link to a Bonus content the puts the icing on the cake even though the end put a big smile on my face after all the emotions I was put through while reading.

I think this book was more intense than the last one. I loved it Jane Anthony had me yelling at my kindle, and I was in from the beginning cheering when needed, smiling when warranted.
This is a must read if you have read Pretty Reckless, if you haven’t start there so you understand the dynamics of their relationship with each other. If you want a pretty Romance then this isn’t for you. This is much more.

Review: Unloved

Unloved Unloved by Katy Regnery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a heartbreaking, but beautiful love story this book is. This is the story of Brynn whose fiancee was shot a pop concert two years before. Out of desperation Brynn decides to take his mobile phone to his favourite mountain and bury his phone and say a real goodbye.
We have Cassidy whose father had been sent to prison for rape and murder. He lives of the grid in his grandfather’s house where he has lived since his father’s arrest. His mother brought him with her when he was still a child. He has lived on his own for years, his promised his mother he would never hurt anyone so he kept to his self.
One day to feel part of the human race his walks up the mountain out of everyone’s sight. Until he hears screaming and comes upon this creep stabbing a woman he throws the man off her and he sees Brynn. He takes her home and treats her stab wounds and looks after her. They can’t help falling in love. Cassidy knows nothing can be permanent. You can help but fall in love with Cassidy and deep down you know he won’t hurt Brynn.
This has dark themes, but you can feel the emotion between them. Cassidy knows he can’t keep her because of what runs in his veins and the promise he made to mother and grandfather. Katy always knows how to pull me into a story and plays on my emotions like a piano. There is always plenty of drama and angst before we get the hea. This is a standalone with no cliffhangers. This story makes you think about all the victims of violent crime.
If you like to read something different, then you would love this. I read this in one seating, but remained on my mind much longer.
The first part of this review is for the book which was one of my favourites, so as soon as I saw the Audiobook was available I had to have it straight away.  I was blown away by the narrators especially Joe Arden as Cassidy. In conclusion the Audiobook brought the book to life and heightened my enjoyment of the story.
