Review: Her Legacy

Her Legacy Her Legacy by Teresa Crumpton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Wow I do love a good supernatural mixed with history and folklore. We follow heiress Alexis after she inherits the family legacy Foster House that been in the family for a long time, but she knew nothing about. Teresa in her notes alludes to her family’s history and lore, and that’s what make this so believable.
It felt like I was there with Alexis, and it was my family I am hooked. This all starts at a funeral, when we meet Alexis and the story unfolds. Alexis is studying law and an intern at the district attorney’s Office. Suddenly she is thrust into an adventure of supernatural proportions. I not giving anything away except I am absolutely hooked and I need book two now. This is so fascinating all the
History mixed with folklore, I was hooked and right up my alley I couldn’t put it down and I had to get to the end, only to realise there’s another book to come. If you enjoy a good supernatural with plenty of suspense then this is one for you.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review: Bloodties

Bloodties Bloodties by Teresa Crumpton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
The first I have to say is you must read The Legacy first as this carries on from that book. I read the Legacy when it came out, and I ‘ve been waiting for Bloodties forever. When Alexis inherited a big old house from her uncle Woodie she discovers there is a lot more to it. Alexis is an empath and discover Josh and Tucker can damper the feelings when things get bad.
In this book Alexis finds out more about her powers and how to deal with the fact the house is full of ghosts as wells as the house itself talks to her and some the knights.
In this book its nonstop action all centered around the families and the house we find out so much more and then nothing the end and now I have to wait for the next book to find out more. This kept me gripped through all the pages, that meant it felt like minutes instead hours when reading.

Review: Royally Yours

Royally Yours Royally Yours by Emma Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
What utter perfection Royally Yours is to read.
Reading about Lenora as a young woman was the icing on the royal cake made with Chocolate sublime.
We meet Lenora as a teenager following her father as he attends to his royal duties. From an early age Lenora has known she was going to be the first queen to rule Wessco. Spending very little time being a young girl, so it was beautiful reading about her relationship with Thomas and his brother Prince Edward. Thomas being her first friend had a positive influence by teaching her to be young.
This was such a pleasure reading about this woman who we know from previous books as the family’s matriarch. This is a five-star read as a beautiful story of heartbreak and finding love and joy. After reading the other books makes this so much more.

Review: Dangerous Exes

Dangerous Exes Dangerous Exes by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
Dangerous Exes is the second in the series, it carries on from the end of the last book, when their PI Dirty Exes company investigates and outs cheating spouses. One of there clients wasn’t was using the company to humiliate her ex-husband because she received no money in the divorce.
Jessie Beckett is mad and wants to make them pay so he is spying on them, especially Isla its really getting to her.
This is a funny story of enemies to lovers, to get the media of Jessie’s back, as it was their company’s fault for his bad press.
To get back at his ex and rehabilitation of his reputation. They decide that Isla and Jessie are going to pretend to be a couple. Well we always know what happens, the sparks fly. This Rachel Van Dyken at her best giving us a hilarious and hot romance between Jessie and mistrusting Isla. Great fun from the start until that wonderful ending. I have to say this is my favourite in this hilarious RomCom Series. I’m not saying anymore just read it for yourself and have a great time..

Review: I Bet You

I Bet You I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
This an entertaining romance between the nerdy intelligent sassy Penelope and the heartthrob on the campus Ryker quarterback of the college football team.
This semester is important for both, as they are working hard for the careers they both want.
So, no distractions for Ryker, so it’s a real shock when he can’t stop thinking about Red. As much as Penelope wishes she could stop her fantasies about Ryker and she keeps writing him the lead roll in the romantic fiction she is writing. Penelope wants to be an author as that’s her goal she needs a nice intelligent guy, except Ryker is intelligent and kind and she tingles when he touches him.
This is a sweet entertaining romance and it shows you need to learn to look past labels get to know someone. Ryker and Penelope became friends, but it just wasn’t enough for both of them. This is a great college based romance, and great fun watching Ryker and Penelope dance around each other. There is much more to this entertaining romance, but that’s for you to find out.

Review: Winning Whitney

Winning Whitney Winning Whitney by Kat Mizera
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
Winning Whitney is story of Jake the captain of The Alaska Blizzards, we have met him in previous books, but this can still be read as a standalone. Whitney is staying with Hayley and Kane looking after their twins.
Whitney is absolutely gobsmacked when a man she spent a hot few days with in Boston four years previously walks into Hailey’s house with Kane. Whitney realizes Jake is Jackson who she has never forgotten. Jake can’t believe it’s  his found the woman his never forgotten.
Every time Jake and Whitney are together in a room both feel the sexual tension, but there is so much going on in both their lives the road ahead is rocky. As we all know the fun is in going along that road.
Another romance in this enchanting series based in Alaska that always make me shiver when I read one. A good solid romance with plenty sexual tension between the two.
All the books in this series can be read as a standalone, but reading them in order gives you a greater understanding of the background other characters who begin to feel like old friends. As this is only book three, its not that many books to catch up on.

Review: Finding My Fight

Finding My Fight Finding My Fight by R.G. Corr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
Well the first thing I have to say is My God What A Book, I’m still trying to calm down. This is not a pretty romance, for most of it the heroine was suffering at first physically and then what seemed worst mentally. R.G Corr’s attention to detail when approaching the subject is superb carrying the reader all through the story and Ginny’s circumstances, leaving me feeling the fear and the feelings of hopelessness with her.
All in all, I think this was a story of hope, but with realism because anyone going through what Ginny went through wouldn’t heal overnight and them walk into the sunset with a new man. That’s all I’m saying I’m trying not to add any spoilers.
I would like a Nate waiting for me, giving Ginny hope for the future. A superb and realistic story of Ginny and Nates family recovering and having a positive outcome

Review: Aries' Red Sky

Aries' Red Sky Aries' Red Sky by James L. Young Jr.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
I have to say this a long audiobook, and at first you must concentrate to make sure you don’t get names and ships in a muddle. The human world as we know is now Known as The Confederation as we have planets in many systems.
We also have the Spartan Empire who left earth 700 years before to escape a dictatorship called the Harran Empire, as they wanted to have religious freedoms. All this time they have been preparing for a war with the Terran Empire.
In this wonderful space opera there is  good and the bad on both sides. How normal people act and terrible war crimes committed by both sides. This is a long Audiobook, but you begin to know the characters involved, and you begin to root for them.
The narration is superb when you consider all the different voices. When I was listening, I was on the deck of a spaceship listening to what was going on. I was lucky as I was on many ships and planets. When I’m really in the action I don’t like to be pulled out of the action. That is the mark of great narrator, and this narrator really sent me on a wondrous journey

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by James Young. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Review: Shifters and Glyphs

Shifters and Glyphs Shifters and Glyphs by Christina Bauer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
Wow what a book, Christina Bauer has created another series which has become a must buy for me. This book blew me a away with all our heroes in it, but this was definitely Bryer Rose and Knox’s story. One I never saw coming, I thought this would be centred on her trek into schooling west Lake Prep, but that was a small part.
This book is centred around the Autumn equinox and tracking down the fountain of magic to strengthen the magic, as it is in danger of dying out. This is an action packed adventured and Bryer learning to let herself love and accept love from Knox. I not going to tell you anymore about this book except to say  I was blown away and this series get better with every book. Christine Bauer has such an incredible imagination that has me addicted to her storytelling.

Review: Big Stick

Big Stick Big Stick by Kelly Jamieson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
Big Stick is a super sweet story of Nick Balachov an Aces Hockey Player, and a super loner that has to force himself to go to his friend Hallsy party. Nick is going through a bad patch and Kendra’s friend Jodie is driving him mad she just doesn't stop talking. Jodie and her toddler daughter Zyana need somewhere to stay, and Nick has an empty Coach House. Well I think we all know what happens after Jodie and Zyana move in.
This is a sweet romance between a moody giant and Jodie a devoted mother and business woman.
I love a good sexy romance when I’m imagining the well-built athletic men turning into loving men and father figures. So it’s the journey we enjoy in this sweet romance with a bit of sexy times thrown in.
Nick was so sweet with little Zyana, looking after when she was ill.

A Heritage of Death A Heritage of Death by Alexa Padgett

I have to say I think this book is better the last one, and I thought that was fantastic. We catch up with Cici after she have some disturbing dreams, that seem so real. When she hears her twin’s voice and realizes she is trying to tell something. If you have read the last book you will what happens when Cici starts having visions that begin to come true.
Sam is there supporting Cici as usual as this Harley riding reverend does things her way. This for me was just up my street following the clues with Sam as he has a head start because of Cici’s visions. A great new character sleuth that I for one is quite happy to follow the adventures of Reverend Cici Gurule with hopefully Sam by her side. I so pleased to find a series that has blown me away, this was just perfect.

Review: A Princess's Duty

A Princess's Duty A Princess's Duty by Sloane Murphy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
What a great start to a new series, in book one we follow Emilia a princess of the Summer Court. Emilia’s life is unbearable after her twin gets killed after the King of the Winter Court encourages the darkness inside him, and Cade kills him to save his younger brother Rowan’s life. Emilia thought the entertainment at the Winter court was bad, but that his nothing compared to the way her parents start to behave after her twin’s death. Emilia has wanted no part in the blood sports that her father thought was entertainment.
To escape the Court, she begins to see one of the Hunters Oberon and they plan to escape somewhere peaceful and away from the war and bloodshed. Only this is just the beginning  after witnessing things that she couldn't imagine. Emilia will never trust anyone ever again. This book has everything you would expect from a book about the Dark Fae, it kept me on gripped from beginning until the end and now I can’t wait for book two. Emilia is a strong woman even though among her own she is considered weak. It very hard to do this book justice without spoilers, but I am addicted and an on edge until I read the next book. This book is only suitable for 18+

Review: The Billionaire's Obsession ~ Simon

The Billionaire's Obsession ~ Simon The Billionaire's Obsession ~ Simon by J.S. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
This is a real pleasure to listen to as this was the first book of J.S. Scott's that I had ever read. When it came out it was in four separate books, so when you start listening all the four titles are mentioned. Simon is more content to behind his computer than worrying about his status as an man made Billionaire. At first you think what man would watch to a young woman for a year to make sure she gets homes safely. This is a wonderful book as you watch how both parties grow as people as they realise they are unconditionally loved.
This is not a run of the mill alpha billionaire as it seems all men have to be. Simon first saw Kara at his mother's restaurant where she waitressed at night while she is training to be a nurse. He doesn't understand his obsession until he gets to know Kara properly.
This is a beautiful story that his narrated by Elizabeth Powers and it's more a read than some dual narration books. The book is written as dual POV, never the less it is still on one my favourite book lists. I know I will  be listening to it again.

Truth Kills in the first book in a new Series
About a 50 something divorced mother and grandmother who is a Private Investigator. We are introduced to Angie when she gets involved in a case where she is trying to find evidence in a murder case. It felt great to follow the mindset of a more mature kickass heroine. We also have a peep into the goings on in the 3rd generation Sicilian community.
We follow Angie’s day to day investigation, and dealing with her over protective Papa. This is a great intro to Angie’s live and attitude to her life, work with romance thrown in. We see how her ability to read people and situation which you only learn from life.
A great start to a new series, as Angie gets more than she bargained for when to discover the truth Angie has to work with a hard nosed cop Ted Wukowski. This gripping book makes this addictive listening as the conclusion to this case brings new opportunities for Angie.

Review: The Scythian Trials

The Scythian Trials The Scythian Trials by Elizabeth Isaacs
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
What a great book, I am lucky to have the pleasure of reading Authors new to me and discovering a new take mixed in ancient legends of the Amazonians. In a modern-day reference, with a preface at the front of the book with a list of the Scythians language for everyday items.
We follow Nya and her friends as they prepare to fight to become eligible to go to Carpathia to choose their mates who they then fight to find their equal.
Nya is dreading this, but for every female warrior this is what they look forward to. When she survives the trails and then she is then matched with 5 male warriors she is absolutely gobsmacked when one of them is  Jax her Tutor and Guide for the previous four years as she has struggled to overcome an unknown trauma from her past..
I loved this book, and I thought Jax was perfect for Nya before I go into all the hunky males in this hoping to find their mates. As a female warrior Nya is descended from the first couple to start a whole new society, so much is expected from her. This is an action-packed adventure with lots of drama going when the enemy is after Nya again. If you love fantasy with a great adventure this the book for you. I can’t wait to read some more of Elizabeth Isaacs’s books if they are as good as this one. A great original fantasy action filled adventure with a side dose of love. What more can I ask for ?

My god you must read this book, it will keep on your toes. In this book Diesel has left his MC Club and gone to his house in Whitefish, Montana to keep his son Ryan safe from his mother who keeps trying to kidnap him.
Living next door is Rory, and she is hiding there from her brother and her Ex. Then inevitable happens and the chemistry between is just so hot, but Diesel finds it hard to trust any women.
Some of the time I just wanted to punch Noah (Diesel’s real name) for the way he would treat Rory. They both have trust issues, but I really liked Rory and couldn’t help feeling for her. I am now all worked up with nowhere to go as this finished on a cliffhanger.
I don’t know how I’m going last until Rory comes out in December.

Dear Jane Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dear Jane is a second chance romance between Western Chase and Jane Royce. Jane is now an assistant Manager for the Hawks Chicago’s favourite football team. When she gets the news that Wes Chase is being transferred in.
Its been ten years since they have seen each other. They were high school sweethearts, but when Wes went to play college football they spilt up, and now Jane hates him with a passion.
When they meet Wes can’t understand the animosity towards him, as it was Jane who dumped him. I always enjoy these stories when you meet up with your first love or the one you never got over. Wes is a darling finding himself back home and seeing the girl who he never really got over.
This is a sweet and sexy romance and I loved every second of this book, and I had a big smile on my face at the end. This is a nice easy read with a big hunky footballer with a heart of gold.

It has been a while since there has been a new Cynn Cruor novel and I was lucky enough to be able to get a chance to read a new book from one of my go to series before it was released. This is the eighth book in this fascinating paranormal series.
For those of you who haven’t read the series you will need to start with Rapture at Midnight or you will be very confused. This can be a standalone, but to get the full benefit it is best for the books to be read in order.
The Cynn Cruors are an immortal race created originally with werewolf and vampire genetics. They were created to live quietly among humans and to keep them safe. In most large cities around the world they have a presence there to keep humanity save.
This is story of Luke Griffiths and Adara Kerslake, and what a story. This is an action packed with plenty of drama and shocks for the ancients as well as the rest of the Cynn Cruors. Luke and Adara are mates even if the two of them have many misunderstandings, but when the chips are down they are there for each other. This is a fantastic read with so much going on it will leave you shaking your head. At least Luke and Adara have a happy ending and are accepting each other wholeheartedly. If you love a good paranormal series, why not start with Rapture at Midnight which happens to FREE at the moment.

If you haven’t this can be read as a standalone. Can you imagine meeting the love of your life by running your car into the rear of his truck? Well that’s what happens when Selene is putting on her mascara and accidently drives into the back of his food truck. Selene is lucky enough to meet Keir who sounded moody but is a real sweetheart, I fell for Keir very early on. When they meet both are going through heartache. This about a couple who struggle when their lives take them to different places. This a beautiful romance and it felt so realistic , but very emotional. This is told in dual narration so we really understand how both Selene and Keir really feel. I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't help cheering Selene and Keir on their happily ever after. This is a beautiful and moving story and I for one am happy to have discovered another author to read.

Wow this time it was Cord’s turn to be Smurfed and meet the love of his life Maebh.
When a new Irish Restaurant comes to town, Maebh came with it. A dark haired green eyed siren has come to town and Cord is smitten. I really enjoyed this trip to Texas to visit with the Parker family.
I think this is one of my favourite visits watching Cord fall in love and trying to get to grips with it was very entertaining. I have to say the sex was hot and Cord was so swoony I’m still trying to cool down.
Great catching up with the rest of the family, and a side trip to Ireland. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and can’t wait for Trevor story in 2019.This is part of a series, it can be read on its on but for greater enjoyment its best read in order. This is a great series and told in alternate points of view, which is one of my favourite ways to read. I can thoroughly recommend this entertaining series.

This is a super cute story, I loved it. Miles was a great guy with a wonderful way with him. Unfortunately he becomes tongue tied or says the wrong thing when he finally gets his chance with Roxy.
Roxy has given up on relationships but loves Miles and Ben. This is an instant attraction story but because of circumstances they become flirtatious friends. Who finally became Lovers, but how can it become anything more.

That is until she hands in her notice, as she is starting her own business. Hoping for some work as a consultant, with no luck. While working her notice Rome finds out how irreplaceable she is.
After drinking too much at her leaving do, she decides to send him a message or more of a drunken proposition with the theme being “I want to bang you” the phrase that keeps going through Rome’s brain.
At first Rome is appalled, but then he can’t help responding. So the dance begins, as Rome soon realises what an integral part of his marketing Peyton was. Rome becomes obsessed with communicating with handsroamingmybody. This is a slow burn kind of romance, but once on the go gets very hot and Rome becomes quite swoony. Rome is a not a ladies man, devoting himself to his business. His best friend and business partner Hunter is the only person he could talk to. When he was with Peyton she could see through him and knew what he wanted. A really enjoyable read and can’t wait for hunter’s book which hopefully is coming soon.
A Great writing duo has been born and I can’t wait for more.

Review: Beneath

Beneath Beneath by Maureen A. Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great story told in a plausible way.
Stella goes sailing with her best friend and her family, a sail which has happened so many times over the years. Unfortunately they encounter  a strange weather condition, and they capsize and the next thing Stella knows is she comes up into a strange pool of water in a cave.
Beneath is a frightening tale of what happens to a family that is lost at sea, and instead of dying they end up in an underwater cavern. Where nothing is as it seems. They meet people from different eras and you don’t seem to have aged very much.
What they discover when Colin and Stella go investigating is both frightening and encouraging. They have to try to merge into the community to stay alive.
This was such a gripping and eerie story, and everything seemed so real. A great spooky read, and I loved it. I can’t recommend this enough as everything seemed so real, I know I was there.

Review: Fragments of Ash: (inspired by "Cinderella")

Fragments of Ash: (inspired by Fragments of Ash: (inspired by "Cinderella") by Katy Regnery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live.
Fragments of Ash is a dark modern retelling of Cinderella, as with the others in the fairytale series.
Ashley was the child of a famous model Tig, who had a terrible upbringing with her mother being very young and famous she spent her childhood watching Tig spaced out on drugs and alcohol. When Tig was broke and her career over, and marries Mosier and they move into a mansion which is more like a fortress.
Immediately Ash’s life changes and Mosier takes control of their everyday life.
After an unhappy time for the last 5 years the only time Ashley felt happy was at Catholic boarding school. Suddenly her mother is dead, and her step-father tells her his plan for her future.
Ashley more alone and afraid she escapes to God father Gus as he helps to protect her.
This is a great book, I always love Katy’s modern take on the old fairy tales, but I think this is one of my favourites. As we all know our dear Ashley finds more than safety when she hides out with Julien and ex-secret service man who licking his wounds.
They both find what they were looking for when they fall in love, but with the her step-father on their tail nothing is easy.

Review: #1 Muse

#1 Muse #1 Muse by T. Gephart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live, 4.5
Well it’s back with the Larssons and its Nick’s turn to fall in the love.
Claire is a screenwriter who had been going through a bad patch, with inspiration nowhere to be seen she uses her secret crush Nick Larsson the star of a popular television series.
Nick Larsson has always been someone that she has a crush on. So to get back in writing groove she has used Nick as her muse. So for fun she has been writing a series  about a couple called  Nick and Blaire and their exploits. Her roommates love it so much she often prints them a copy each.
This is a fun read with plenty of characters I really loved, not just Nick and Claire. Claire’s roommates had me in stitches.
This was a quick fun read with plenty of hot sex thrown in. I really fell for Nick he was a great bloke, I enjoyed every minute, sometimes you just need something to lighten your mood and #1 Muse certainly did that for me. I have loved this series so it was nice to catch up with some of the other Larssons in this book. Great read lots of fun.

Review: The Way We Were: Romantic Interludes

The Way We Were: Romantic Interludes The Way We Were: Romantic Interludes by Rik Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live.
This a collection of romantic interludes based in different decades, countries and situations with love as the same theme running through them. The one thing in I enjoyed with the Interludes was the ability to listen or read your favourites over and over. In each story we always a beginning and a happy end. I loved the various ages of the each couple, so we know life is not over at thirty. The last one which has Joe Romano in it was a great surprise for me as I was born and grew up in Southend, Essex, England so listening to the story was a great walk down memory lane.
Bob Sterry is the narrator and with his clear English voice he managed to keep my mind in the  stories Rik Stone has woven for our enjoyment. Especially as we popped through different decades and locations.
