Review: Angelbound

Angelbound Angelbound by Christina Bauer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angelbound is the first in the series which included a lot of world building. I haven’t had the pleasure of reading the books so this is my first encounter with the world of Purgatory and the Quasi Demon. This was absolutely absorbing, one minute I was laughing, and other parts crying.
Myla was a normal 18yr old, but is basically living under the rule of the Ghouls on behalf of Armageddon The King of Hell, who invaded 20 years ago.
This has fighting in the Arena and elsewhere, teenage angst, boy meets girl. I loved it, I am hooked when is more coming out on Audio. I got to say I loved Lincoln, he was perfect for Myla. The story is narrated by Myla the main character who goes through an amazing transformation. I absolutely love this Audio book and when is Acca coming out?

Review: Anson

Anson Anson by Alta Hensley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This review is on behalf of the Book Addict blog.
Anson is the third book in the Black Stallion Trilogy. Finally Anson goes to Argentina to rescue Natalya. Most of action the takes place in Argentina. Much to Anson’s surprise when he tries to rescue Natalya, she tells him to go away.

Luckily for Natalya Anson doesn’t give up. There is plenty of action as are on the run through Argentina. Natalya is very wary at first, but once on the run with Anson she realises his is one of the good guys.

A great finish to an action packed trilogy in and out of the bedroom. Once back on the ranch the woman are beginning to heal, and finally Natalya feels part of a family. I have to say I loved the batcave.

Review: Mr. President

Mr. President Mr. President by Katy Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an added comment, I have just listened to the new Audio edition of Mr President. It brought to life Charlotte and Matt, I have two things to say "I loved it" and " When is Commander in Chief coming in Audio downloads" .
Wow I don’t what to say, a completely different type of story from Katy Evans.
No less enjoyable for it, I can’t get it out of my mind. I loved it so much, but I don’t know what to say. So I’ll start at the beginning.
We first meet Charlotte age 11, waiting to meet President Hamilton when he comes to her home for dinner. Matt was with his father a teenager, but taller than his father. He was gorgeous. His hair the color of sable, although it was combed back, it was unruly at the ends. Charlotte’s first encounter with Matt. The President introduced him to Charlotte with the following comment “My son, Matthew. He’s going to be President one day “he said conspiratorially. When Charlotte’s parents send the President a thank you letter. Charlotte gets out her best stationery and decides to write to Matthew a thank you letter with a parting comment of. “If you ever decide to run for president you have my vote. I’d even be willing to join your campaign.” That was the start of her crush and the start of the story.
Matthew and Charlotte were wonderful together, the chemistry builds up for almost the first half of the book. We really get to know the characters Matthew is a dedicated man who is willing to work hard to effect change for the better. Charlotte works a women’s charity, and really wants to help people.
I loved this book, If only there were a real Matthew with his love and dedication for his country. Alas I had a dilemma if Matt won, it means no Charlotte.
I couldn’t put the book down, as we follow them around the country for nearly a year.
We see them getting closer, but finding nearly impossible to get any time together.
This is the best book I’ve read this year, and I have to wait until next year to found out if he won or not. All I’m going to say Vote Hamilton and get this book to read, you won’t regret it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review: Co-Wrecker

Co-Wrecker Co-Wrecker by Meghan Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was reviewed for the Book Addict Blog
This is super quick story about Sadie and Andrew who at work in a restaurant that specialist in ice cream sundaes. Andrew has had to transfer to a different college after an incident that became out of hand.

The only accommodation available was to share a house with 5 girls, mostly foreign students.

When he starts his summer job he meets Sadie, who gives him the cold shoulder. The longer Sadie gets to know him the more she falls for him.

This was book was slightly quirky in some ways, as Andrew a Science Fiction loving nerd with a collection of calculators. Sadie realised she needed Andrew to bring back the joy in her life and to start having fun again.

I really enjoyed this book, Andrew was great character I loved him straight away. It took me a bit longer to warm up to Sadie, but a great group of friends. This a quirky romance I read in one sitting. I was still smiling when I finished reading.

by Skylar Hill

Lily Adler has a big problem: just weeks after moving in with her boyfriend, she finds him in bed with another woman! She’s washed her hands of the cheating jerk, but now she’s hard up for a place to live.

Enter Wes Cartwright, the guy who’s subletting the loft Lily’s slimeball ex convinced her to lease out. Ever since Wes adopted his infant niece, Dawn, his life’s been complicated. The sexy architect is trying to be the best Daddy he can be, but he’s out of his element with diapers and bouncy swings.

Lily’s between jobs, and the last thing she wants to do is apartment hunt, so she agrees.

As Lily weaves herself into Wes and Dawn’s lives, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the perky blonde and her optimistic spirit. Her killer curves don’t hurt, either. Falling for the nanny is such a cliché, but after Wes accidentally walks in on Lily in the shower, all bets are off.

Cliché or not, she will be his.

And he’s playing for keeps.

$0.99 or Free on KU!

Snippet 1:
He yanked the door open, and instead of finding a delivery man like he expected, one of the most luscious-looking blondes he’d ever seen stood at his door.

Her hair was a dark honey color, hanging straight around her face, swinging down past her shoulder blades. Her face was sweet and heart-shaped, with big blue eyes and a full, pink mouth that was just begging to be nibbled on. A tiny woman, she had on well-worn denim jeans that hugged the sweet curve of her ass like it was their one duty in life. Her V-neck sweater was a dark blue, and she wore a gold locket around her neck that looked old and sentimental, hanging low between her breasts like some sort of siren’s lure.

He stared down at her, realizing that the sleep deprivation had apparently not killed his sex drive. He was suddenly, uncomfortably aware that it’d been forever since he’d even thought about jerking off. Sweet, curvy, girl-next-door types were his greatest weakness, and this woman was all that and more. God, she was beautiful. He just wanted to take a handful of her backside and squeeze.

Snippet 2:
Everything went very still and quiet, their breathing the only sound. Their faces were just inches from each other, his hands shifting to her waist, her own on his shoulders.
Her gaze dropped helplessly to his lips, and then back to his eyes.
“Wes,” she whispered. She didn’t know if it was a warning. Maybe it was invitation.
He certainly took it as one.
He kissed her, and it was like a dam breaking inside. It flooded her: all that tension, all that desire, all those naughty, dirty thoughts she’d been weighted down with since the second she saw him, standing in that doorway, his shirt open like some sort of special gift just for her.

Snippet 3:
“Play your cards right,” Lily said. “And you might get me for breakfast.”
He licked his lips, thinking of last night, of how sweet she tasted.
“Promise?” he asked.
She grabbed his discarded shirt from the bottom of the bed and threw it on. His stomach tightened at the sight of her in his old college T. She was so tiny the hem almost fell to her knees, and the material was worn and thin, draping across her perfect double D’s like a second skin.
She caught him staring at her, practically drooling, and winked before sashaying out of the room.
Wes slumped back in the bed.
He was so very screwed. Either Lily was an angel sent from heaven or the devil in disguise.
And frankly, he could care less which one it was as long as he got to keep her with him.

Review: Tea for Two

Tea for Two Tea for Two by Kailee Reese Samuels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Before Reading this book I would advise reading Book 1 The Initiation 3 and half stars
This is an instalment from the life of Salvatore Raniero the sexy alpha male from Juliet.
This story is set in 2009 when Sal was 19yrs old. This is quite a complicated story with plots and sub plots. Sal falls in love, and this such a different Sal from the previous books.
The falling in love was beautiful, and Berti was a lovely tragic soul. First he meets Kaci, and she introduces him to Berti. Sal is mesmerised and plans to leave his life in Sugargrove and Juliet behind. As we know nothing ever goes to plan.
I enjoyed getting to know more about Lucas Salvatore Raniero. The problem being I felt Sal was being used like a pawn, but it seems we must wait for new book to see where all the hints go. The book is not for fainthearted the subject matter is not just BDSM. I enjoyed the writing and I fell in love with Sal so I am now hooked.

EXCERPT:
Satisfied with my results, I settled on the bed, all snug and dry in my robe. Pressing a stack of clean washcloths to my mouth to muffle the laughter, I heard the water turn off. After a few seconds’ hesitation, he called from inside the bathroom.
“Hey. Where are all the towels?”
I didn’t answer, just laughed some more and smothered my giggles.
The slap of his wet feet on the bare floor sounded as he crossed the bathroom toward the door. He poked his dripping head out of the doorway. “What did you do?” His dark eyebrow arched, hair soaked and plastered to his forehead. A puddle quickly formed around his feet.
I held up one of the tiny washcloths. “You want this, don’t you? The hate is swelling in you now.”
His mouth quirked. “Something’s swelling, but it isn’t hate.” He pushed the hair away from his forehead and cleared the water that had dripped into his eyes. “Somehow I thought getting away with that was too easy.”
I smirked. “You should know me better by now. As for drying off…you could always use your dirty underpants.”
“Underpants? What am I, five?” He clenched his jaw and then grinned. “Don’t underestimate the power of the dark side, young Jedi.”
I rolled my eyes. “So you’re going to try to one-up me? So predictable. I’m shaking in my boots.”
His dark eyes gleamed as he came closer. Rivulets of water had collected on his tasty abs. It was fascinating to behold.
“And you should know me better, too.” He grinned evilly. “I don’t one-up. I one-hundred-up.” Then he shook his head inches from my face. Droplets of water sprayed everywhere. I let out a screech and pulled back. “You are looking too dry over there, little girl. Let me help you with that.”
And he promptly pinned me, dripping wet, to the bed and started rubbing his drenched face in mine. “You’re gonna soak the bed!” I screeched.
“Collateral damage,” he replied. He reached down and pulled the belt on my robe, opening it. Then he shifted, sandwiching me between his wet body and the bed.
I squirmed and wiggled, and he only seemed to like it more. He shook his head again. My hand smacked his hard chest. “You’re such a boy.”
He grinned. “I’m all boy,” he said, pressing his erection against me.
“I won’t take this lying down,” I muttered.
“You don’t have to take it lying down.” He laughed. “There’s always up against the door or the shower wall. Or you can take it bent over the back of the couch or a dozen other different ways. Whatever way you take it…you are taking it.”
