It was wonderful to catch up with Shay and Whitney with baby Quinn. It was a lovely Christmas story, which they go to spend with Shay’s large and lively family chaos. This is a Mavericks Novella, but concentrated on whole Cunningham Clan, which was set in West Virginia with plenty of snow surrounding them, adding to the atmosphere.
This was a perfect holiday read, romance, love, loads of food and alcohol to keep warm and happy and a large happy family. What more is there? Read it and find out.

3 Sweet Nothings by Nikki Sloane

3 Sweet Nothings is a second chance sexy love story. Ruby and Kyle met when they were in law school, due to a misunderstanding at graduation leaving them disillusioned with love and each other.
Kyle went to New York after Law school and hasn’t seen Ruby since. Kyle has now come home to Chicago and working at the family Law firm.
When they finally meet it is when Ruby arrives at the law firm with a client to meet with the wife’s attorney who happens to be Kyle. Ruby loses her temper on seeing Kyle and slaps him in public.
This leads into situation where Kyle comes up with the idea of a sexual only contract, as they both are really attracted to the other, but misunderstandings from the past leaves them both with issues. The contract is only sexual, no emotional misunderstandings. What was my opinion of the book, I enjoyed it and find it easy to get into. I really loved Kyle, but took me a little longer to appreciate Ruby. The sex was steaming hot and I really enjoyed reading the story and can’t wait to read what happens in the next book. This is the first book I’ve read of Nikki Sloane, but it won’t be the last. If you like your sex hot? The men even hotter, then this is the book for you. The steam factor was of the charts, it took my kindle a while to cool off. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In this instalment of Bad boys after dark we meet Dylan and Tiffany who met, and deciding to hook up for sex one time and for one night only. As we know, it wouldn’t a romance if only happened only once.
As always with a Melissa Foster romance they can be picked up and read as standalone, but if you follow the series you get to meet characters from other books. I have a new book boyfriend called Dylan, he was sexy hot hunk of male and I want him. Unfortunately he fell for Tiffany, almost lust at first sight. Tiffany was a hard woman for Dylan to make an impression on. Tiffany is a hard noised sports agent and growing up in a house with her father a retired Football player and two brothers in the sport she has learn to play hard ball.
This is a great love story, which takes hard work on both sides to make it work.
I loved it, and can’t wait for more stories about the Bad Brothers. As always Melissa Foster never fails to hit the spot. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It's always a pleasure to read a new Jeffrey Deaver. The only problem is you have to finish, and then you enter a period of mourning.
This is a classic Lincoln Rhyme thriller, it keeps you guessing to the end.

Review: The Something More Boxed Set

This review is for all 3 stories, as it was hard to put it down. The first story Normal was the harrowing account through Rory’s eyes. Where the past is interspersed and unfolding along with the present. Seeing how her relationship with Robin unfolds, seen through her eyes is written really well, even if to some the self-blame may be overtop, I think it captured the manipulations by others very well . We also see her relationship with Sam develop, and it was lovely to see.
We then have Recap, where we see everything through Sam’s eyes, and follows meeting Rory and everything up to the end of Normal. This gave us another perspective, and we saw Rory through different eyes.
The third story Normal was told from a dual perspective, Rory and Sam. We also see all the repercussions from the Miami trip. It was wonderful to see Rory growing stronger and more of a normal teenage girl, by the end of this book. This was a gripping account the rape and sexual abuse of a teenage girl, and how it affected all aspects of her life. Never the less it is a story of hope and happiness. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Review: No White Knight

No White Knight by Alta Hensley

Not A White Knight

Not a White Knight is actually two novellas previously published in anthologies. So the Author has combined the two stories in one book. The first story was a contemporary, but dark and the second was a Sci Fi, so I am reviewing separately.

Book One
A Hero in Disguise

The story starts with Jessa a young woman lost in West Virginia looking for a holiday cabin she had booked for a break. In an area with little or no phone signal, and sat nav on the blink she is completely lost. Finally seeing a land mark, and seeing signal she stops the car to stretch her legs. Jessa is then kidnapped and chained up with other women. I think you need to read the rest yourself. Jessa finds herself in very dangerous situation and she feels death is the better option. There is some upsetting scenes, but they are over quickly and remember we have a HEA.

Book 2
Pallid Slave
We have planet decimated by years of aggression from another planet trying to discover the secrets in the DNA of the lifeblood twins. So many have died in battle, they have allowed the twins to live because there is not enough to study, and stock must replenished. Sadly our heroine Truth has lost her twin and her lifeblood. When that happens they also lose their colour. They are then sent away to be used as slaves. This is when we meet Truth awaiting transport to a mining planet to be used like a canary in a mine. Our unlikely heroes are a pair of twins Cross and Pike, and the start of adventure. I love Sci Fi and enjoy the imagination that goes in to creating different worlds.
As both books were about 6 chapters each the ends always seemed rushed, but in novella the author has to fit it all in. Sometimes I enjoy novellas in between other books or when I have no time for a large book. Both books flowed well and were easily read. Both with a romance and HEA. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
