Review: The Something More Boxed Set

This review is for all 3 stories, as it was hard to put it down. The first story Normal was the harrowing account through Rory’s eyes. Where the past is interspersed and unfolding along with the present. Seeing how her relationship with Robin unfolds, seen through her eyes is written really well, even if to some the self-blame may be overtop, I think it captured the manipulations by others very well done. We also see her relationship with Sam develop, and it was lovely to see.
We then have Recap, where we see everything through Sam’s eyes, and follows meeting Rory and everything up to the end of Normal. This gave us another perspective, and we saw Rory through different eyes.
The third story Normal was told from a dual perspective, Rory and Sam. We also see all the repercussions from the Miami trip. It was wonderful to see Rory growing stronger and more of a normal teenage girl, by the end of this book. This was a gripping account the rape and sexual abuse of a teenage girl, and how it affected all aspects of her life. Nerveless it is a story of hope and happiness. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Review: Seaside Whispers

Seaside Whispers by Melissa Foster

This is story of Matt and Mira, part of The Seaside Summer Series. The good thing is they can be read as standalones. Characters from other books may make an appearance, but that do not stop you reading this as a standalone. Our story begins when Matt has taken a sabbatical from Princeton to write a book, and hopefully become better acquainted with Mira and her son Hagen, who he met at his bother Grayson’s engagement party the year before.
They had kept in touch, and manage to meet up when he came home, but only as friends. I loved reading about this couple, it was a wonderful story, very romantic as well as sexy. Every time I finish reading a Melissa Foster romance I am always left on cloud 9. I read many types of books and enjoy them. If I want a romance with a hot sexy male a good storylines with HEA there’s a lot to be said for reading a Melissa Foster book. Good writing, always plenty of emotion, good sexy men, what are you waiting for? Come and meet Matt, Mira and Hagan.

Review: Caught on Camera

Caught on Camera by Madelle Morgan

Caught on Camera is a light-hearted comedy of errors type romance with a guaranteed HEA.
Most of the action takes place over a weekend at the wedding of a model and a Hollywood actor, with a cast of Hollywood’s A-list. The heroine of a tale is a simple chambermaid Rachel who is working very hard to afford her fees for Toronto Film School.
The GM of the Hotel had one rule the housekeeping staff have to be plain. So Rachel in her baggy clothes, mousey brown hair and black glasses fitted the bill. As with all fairy tales when Rachel is in the Brides suite, It happens when Catherine “ Candy “ Kane , CEO of Candy Kane Cosmetics finds her Maid of honour had not been allowed in Canada because she had a conviction for Driving under the influence.
Seeing Rachel she asked her to try on the dress. This is how Rachel becomes a guest as the bride’s cousin and a bridesmaid for the weekend festivities.
This book is very entertaining in many ways. I read this on my kindle, and it was programmed with a song list. Every time we came to a particular part, you pressed the link to You Tube and a very good piece of relevant music played. The playlist was listed at the front of the book, and you could ignore it if you wished. So we have a makeover for Rachel, with blonde highlights and wonderful clothes. So she spends a weekend of romance with a friend of the poor groom.
This is a great book for entertainment value, it’s funny, clichéd. As I said a comedy of errors, and Trent accuses Rachel of selling photos to the paparazzi. Rachel was planning to do that, but as she got to know the groom, and realised how he felt about privacy of the wedding ceremony. She couldn’t do that to him. When her phone is found the next day with photos on it. Some very private pictures appear the next day Social Media and television. It obvious they were taken by someone at the wedding. In Trent’s eyes Rachel is the main culprit, when confronted she acts guilty, because she feels guilty. I let you find out the rest when you buy the book.
I recommend this book, if you are the mood for some light hearted entertainment. Sometimes it just what you want. I know it worked for me. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Review: More Than Friends

More Than Friends by Monica Murphy

More than Friends starts just as Just Good Friends finishes. What a great book, we really get up and close with Jordan and Amanda. I love both characters Amanda so different from the other girls she works hard, but because her family is normal and not rich she feels lower socially. She doesn’t see herself as others do.
In this book we see her through Tuttles eyes, as well as others. Amanda is a great character someone you would love as a best friend, proud to have as your daughter. Jordon feels he doesn’t deserve her, or anything that would make him happy.
Jordon makes his claim very early on in the book, and they become a couple. They were beautiful together as they became even closer. We also meet Jordon’s mum and Dad, and have a glimpse into his home life.
The book is written from a dual POV, we really get up and personal. I loved this book, and can’t wait for the next one. I even found myself liking Livvy for the way she supports Amanda. For me it was a straight through read with only the usual breaks. No one writes catty spoilt teenagers like Monica Murphy. I now have to wait for the next book.
