Review: Stroke of Luck

Stroke of Luck Stroke of Luck by B.J. Daniels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
This is the first book I have read of B.J.Daniels and didn’t know what to expect, I admit I fell in love with cover and the blurb. So I was expecting a cowboy romance, but this was so much more. We have Poppy who has come back to Whitefish Montana to start her catering business.
Will runs the Guest Ranch Retreat, and its his first year and they have opened early for special client. A four day work retreat, what could go wrong. The cook has broken his leg, and Will’s brother Garrett recommends Poppy Carmichael. Poppy and Will know each other from when they kids and hadn’t parted well.
So we have employees who don’t won’t to be there, Poppy is determined to get back at Will. Then there Dorothea who has lived on the Sterling Ranch as a housekeeper walking around saying there is something bad going to happen.
That’s just the beginning, and this book kept me gripped until the end I did not want to miss anything. It was well worth the read and I want to go back to Sterling Ranch for another adventure. This had it all, a handsome cowboy, love, murder and mayhem and right up my street. It is told in multiple povs so you get a real feel for whats going on. I’m hooked on B.J.Daniels, so go and read it yourself.

Review: Apocalypse Five

Apocalypse Five Apocalypse Five by Stacey Rourke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
Wow what an amazing start to an imaginative series. As book one we are introduce to the world the Apocalypse five live in aboard a star ship thinking they are training to defend earth. The five spend all the time together, and ages starting at twelve or thirteen they are fighting battles of life and death.
Until they find out something they shouldn’t and everything they find is a lie and the apocalypse has already happened. I’m in awe at the imagination authors in this genre have. I thoroughly enjoyed this introduction to hopefully an absorbing series that I’m looking forward to. Where's book two?

Review: Cold & Deadly

Cold & Deadly Cold & Deadly by Toni Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf http://bookaddict.live,
I love Toni Anderson books, they have everything I love reading about. In this book we hit the jackpot, great characters, plenty of murders and above all a couple falling love.
This starts at a funeral of a well loved FBI agent who had either committed suicide or shot himself by accident. So under the circumstances the mourners are close friends and family. Suddenly shots are fired at the FBI agents attending. This starts an investigation that leads all over the county.
Dominic Sheridan is investigating with the help of Special Agent Ava Kanas. It always hard to write a review without giving much away especially a murder mystery. This book kept me gripped and I couldn’t put it down. It kept me guessing until the end and them I felt bereft when it was finished. So what I’m trying to say is this is a great read, and I loved the Ava and Dominic they are good together or should I say HOT together.
This is definitely going on my reread shelf.

Review: It Happens

It Happens It Happens by Lani Lynn Vale
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Another treat from Lani Lynn Vale in the bear bottom MC Series. This is an unusual story in some ways. Jubilee and Zee grew up together as their parents are best friends. Jubilee and Zee really clash and have all their lives. When they are a little older after being hit by lightening and their siblings are killed in the same strike leaving a whole they both still feel in their life.
Still avoiding each other, but both secretly looking out for each other. All is well until one of Zee’s ex enters the bar and being drunk Jubilee kisses Zee and the next morning they wake up in bed together. That is the start of another amazing relationship which LLV writes so well. One warning this book is HOT, as the sparks flying with this couple singed my hands as I was reading. I am really enjoying this series, which is fast becoming one of favourites. So that’s all I am writing about. The story is told in dual povs, and can be read as standalone.

Review: His Demand

His Demand His Demand by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
My god Lisa has done it again, got me gripped and excited to be reading the story. Them suddenly it is the end. I knew it was a duet, but it was full of action in and outside the bedroom. This is Gabe Maxwell’s story and completely standalone, but we met some of characters from other books. We met Gabe plenty of times always as the laid back brother of the Maxwell clan, but always knowing there was something painful from his past, but his a good guy at heart.
Gabe has fallen Abbie real fast straight after Reid’s wedding. Abbie meets Gabe and they both know it’s more than a one night stand, they seemed to connect straight away.
This is told in duel pov’s so we follow both characters we how things develop. Lisa’s female leads are always strong in there own right. I felt much closer to Gabe after reading this book, maybe because I felt I knew him better. He is HOT and I couldn’t resist him. A gripping first book in the Filthier Duet. Now I’m waiting for Her Submission to find out what happens.

Review: Motion

Motion Motion by Penny Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Motion is the first in a the second trilogy in in the hypothesis series. This is The Law of Physics part one. As always with Penny Reid expect the unexpected. In this book we meet Mona a twin whose abilities with maths and physics has produced someone who has had very little time in her life for wasting time and having fun. Uptight is putting it mildly. Suddenly she receives a phone call from her twin who has been arrested, and needs Mona to go home and pretend to be Lisa. The good time sister who is with a rock star and is into drugs. So to keep her sister out of trouble with their parents Mona agrees.
Only one problem Mona has not got a clue how to behave like Lisa. To keep her out of trouble her brother’s best friend Abram is staying at the house to watch and keep her under control.
Well after a makeover and advice from Gabby, Lisa’s best friend Mona arrives at the house and meets Abram. Well Mona is tongue tied and tries her best. Well we all know what happens with the law of hormones, the more time they spend together the more they like each other. This is a Penny Reid romance keeping me addicted until the last page, and then I have to wait until March until I read more of Mona and Abram.
To find out what happens you have to read the book. Just a little warning this ends in a cliffhanger.
