Review: Maid of Ice

Maid of Ice Maid of Ice by Shona Husk
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is the third book in the series, and is set in LA, America, we meet Finlay Ryder who is an Alba living away from his family in Australia. Finlay started as a stuntman, and then landed the part in a daytime soap.
Alina is unaware she is not wholly human, and is an Ice Skater who lives at home with her mother.
Alina is unsettled and wants more out of life than a life devoted to competing.
When Finlay has a race car stunt go wrong, and ends up in hospital badly injured. He uses his magic to slowly heal so he doesn’t arouse suspicion. Alina has broken her arm while skateboarding. They meet and agree to meet up when they go home.
Finlay is sure Alina has magic, and after finding out she had her ears altered as a child. He tells about her heritage and how to use magic.
This is an enjoyable adventure as we learn who causes Finlay accident, and is now stalking Alina.
This is about jealousy, so much so it turns into murder. Finlay and Alina have to find a cure to save a life. There is plenty going on, to keep you in the adventure going on. The only thing I didn’t feel the chemistry between Fin and Alina. I felt they were more like friends than lovers. We find quite a bit about the background to the Alba and the Albanex.
