Review: The Gathering

The Gathering The Gathering by Bernadette Giacomazzo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
THE GATHERING by Bernadette Giacomazzo is a great book and as book one in a series it builds this future dystopian New York with this gutsy and unique book filled with danger and brimming with energy. In this future, New York it’s a dictatorship and ruled by an Emperor who terrorising the people with The Cabal.
The Cabal use psi energy and can turn into a zombie or a biddable puppet, and that's how anyone not obeying the rules is treated.
This is great series I can’t wait for the next book, this starts with Rock and Roll, which is then banned by the Emperor or Roger Cunningham.
Three fighters from different backgrounds and walks of life find themselves at the front of the freedom movement in the hopes of restoring New York City to its former glory before the days of the dictatorship of the Emperor and his terrorising Cabal.
But danger lurks around everywhere with most of the citizens terrified to make a wrong move. But they will not give up because there is too much at stake.
This has everything a new series needs, a great beginning I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one. This is definitely written for an adult audience with the language and some situations. This is a five star read for me. A great sci-Fi/dystopian adventure. So long live The Uprising I’m hooked.
